Slow Food CNY

Barry Estabrook, former contributing editor at Gourmet, has moved his Politics of the Plate column to a new blog. It’s still sad to see Gourmet go, but wonderful to know that the fantastic writing on food politics Barry contributed over the years will continue on in this new format.

I’m sure many of you have heard about novelist Jonathan Safran Foer’s new book, a work of non-fiction called “Eating Animals,” about what we eat and factory farming. The book received a lengthy review in the New Yorker and turned Natalie Portman from a vegetarian to a vegan.

To make this event happen, they are having a coordinating meeting to start the process of pulling together the program, resources, and action steps to make for a successful Consulta event.  The meeting will be on Saturday November 14, 7:00 pm at the Gear [...]
