Slow Food CNY Board Meeting, 1/10/10

Agenda Items:

1. January Meeting and Potluck

• Melissa will take the lead and MC at the event.
• Board members to introduce themselves.
• Meredith to take lead as door greeter/sign-in sheet, will make sign-in sheet to bring to event
• Dawn in charge of food signage, will bring cards for dishes
• Jesse in charge of set-up and taking notes during event
• Award Snail of Approval award
• Promoting event: flyers, facebook page, announcements, other community organization websites.

2. Board Meetings – how to make more transparent

• Announce on website and invite community to attend, ask anyone interested in attending to RSVP for location
• Post agenda to the website
• Meeting minutes to be added as a blog post to the site

3. Local food cookbook

• Tabling the idea for time being

4. Empire Brewing fundraiser

• David at Empire has offered to host a fundraiser at the restaurant
• Dawn to set up meeting with herself, Melissa, Jesse, Meredith and David to discuss the event.

5. Website

• Guest bloggers – remind Libby to send message to those interested in blogging.
• Dawn to finish the Meet the Board page
• Agreed to renew slowfoodcny.org as domain name.

6. Membership incentives

• Melissa provided updates on her discussions regarding partnering with Chris Fowler at Syracuse First to provide SF member incentives.

7. Upcoming events

• Dawn to talk to Recess Coffee about having a movie night
• Paul to talk to Jessica Maxwell about partnering with and having a seed ordering get together
• Empire Brewing fundraiser
• Studio FX haircut-a-thon, maybe partner with Syracuse Grows and/or CSA-CNY.
• Possibility of asking members to participate in a service event, like serving food at a soup kitchen.

8. Next meeting date

• February 7th, 2010.  11am, brunch potluck.
